Anyone pick up one of the new Bosch jigsaws yet? I’ve had a PC for probably four or five years…..think it was a pretty good saw when I first bought it. Lately is doesn’t seem to cut the mustard. Main complaint is the blade wandering out of square when scrolling in thicker (1 1/4″ +) stock. Really out lately….good 3/16ths in 5/4 Geodeck. Using good quality Bosch blades as usual.
I think I read in Tools of the Trade recently (coulda been JLC) that the Bosch handled this problem particularly well compared to the others out there. Looking for some real world experience with this from someone who owns one and has had a chance to really work the new Bosch.
Only thing really holding me back is that the current Collins Coping Foot doesn’t fit the new Bosch saw. Anyone know if Dave is working on that? Hate to own TWO jigsaws that don’t work with the CCF.
Then I’d have to buy a third!

I'm not talking about cutting straight lines.
I said scrolling.
Blade doesn't stay square to the table, or the stock, when cutting thick wood.
Get it?

Errrrr...ahhhh
How do you sound sheepish on the internet?
My bad....twas a little too early in the AM for me to be allowed to interact with other humans. I should know better by now.
Peace.
just curious, when scrolling though the thicker material, are you moving too fast? Try slowing down ease up on the saw.
just a thought, not saying you dont know how to use one.I know sometimes the blade just wanders on the meanders. I have the new hitachi cj120v. So far I'm really satisfied. Last one was a milwaukee older model.Thats not a blemish....we call that character
I've had the new bosch for about 3 mos. now and think its great. Cut inside tight radius for a drop in kitchen sink the other day and it was perfect. I didn't notice that the blade bent or wandered.

I`m considering making that purchase as well. I`ve got an older model Bosch...you remember the ones that require the screwdriver for blade changes?...still works like a dream, but that new model looks schweeeeet!
If Smith ever gets back to me with a review of the coping foot, it`ll make my decision easier. I`ll throw the foot on the old saw and grab the new one for everyday.
