I need to replace the existing asphalt roof on my small 30’s tudor cottage in an old neighborhood where there’s a lot of slate & copper. I would love to have the roof stripped & redone w/ all copper flashing & Elk Capstone shingles. My concern is paying the extra $900.00 for copper when all I see in new build high end developments is stnd. metal flashing & 40 yr. asphalt. Is copper w/ asphalt a complete waste of cash?
