I am trying to decide if I can feasibly add
plywood sheathing over a ’70’s barn roof that
consists of shingles over two 1″layers of styro
insulation over older 1 x 6’s. I need 4″ nails to
hold the plywood in this case. There are four
LARGE skylights to work around. A tearoff would
be very difficult with the 3.5″ nails currently
holding it all, and I would lose the insulation.
Any thoughts, including thickness/grade of
sheathing,type of shingles, na
