I was at the local large orange box today & low & behold a new line of Dewalt tools. Theres a snazzy new compressor & a pile of nail guns.
After closer inspection though.. I think they may be a bust. The nail guns are expensive compared to other brands i.e. P.C. 2″ brad nailer is $169 Dewalts is $196. Their 16gauge finish gun is about $60 more then the others & the compressor is WAY out there price wise. I can get a P.C. compressor with hose & 2″ brad gun for $150 less then just the Dewalt compressor.
The guns are plastic & the compressor goes up to 200 psi. Can anyone tell me what you use that sort of pressure for? All my nailers/staplers say max 120 psi. I could see an apprentice getting blowed all up because he didnt check the regulator setting, & drop a Dewalt nailer off the ladder once & I see repairs in your future.
Of course I havent had a chance to try these new Dewalt beauties & they ARE very attractive so wouldnt mind hearing from someone that has used them. Are they worth the extra money? The compressor isnt even oilless as most of the other brands are. Mabey this is a good thing?
Come on.. comments from the Peanut gallary please!
