A 12" Ax demo blade would have made quick work of it.

Yes, but with a Lenox blade one could carve up many more turkeys. The end move in politics is always to pick up a gun. R. Buckminster Fuller
Have always used a sawzall in the initial steps butchering deer to manageable sizes.
First 4 cuts are to remove the feet, below the knees/elbows. Next cut the head off.
Next skin the poor creature (skining knives recommended.)
Then one longitudinal cut along the middle of the spine creates 2 halves.
Then to the boning knives for the final stretch.
Used this technique very efficiently a couple times to cut up 2~3 dozen deer during a special control season in the UP.
Which blade did you use for bone cutting?
The one that was already on the saw.
Not being a wise a##, it doesn't really matter mutch. This is butchering not surgery. Has to be long for reach when cutting down the spine, 10~12" best. Also same #'s for tpi probably worked best in my case.
Bi-metal not necessary.
