The local hardwood wholesaler put 600BF of gluelam (7-1/2 ft, 2 pcs 1″ by 2-1/2″ oak glued to center piece of 3/4″ by 2-1/2″ balsa) into the scrap pile today, they said it is used for doors and was too little for them to bother with(unloading 6 semis at the time).
Has anybody had experience with this type door construction, looks like is has lots of advantages, will make up a few doors with it if I don’t hear too many negatives.
