I am looking for a set of Occidental bags with 50% or more of life left. New would be OK too if fairly priced. Open to various styles. Pro Framer would be good. Anyone have a set hanging around no longer being used? Send a picture or two and price to

Mike,
The problem is Oxy's don't die! You might have a hard time prying them off people!!! LOL
Well it's not Occidental but it is a real nice bag. Duluth Master series. Paded belt, adjustable pockets, used twice. Paid $105 asking $50
I am in the Boston area where you at?

Mike--- i have a set in good shape----- Occy framers, the belt, both bags, i think the hammer loop as well, and the shoulder harness/suspenders.
I rarely use them anymore
ultimately---if we are in the same line of work( primarily roofing?)--- I don't think you are gonna like them----WAY to heavy and bulky---way to tempting to load them down with tools you might use ONCE a day--but you end up hauling around ALL day--every trip up a ladder, every time you squat down-----------
also--the bags hang too low--and really get in your way if you sit on the roof.
they ARE very pretty bags---- but they just haven't been right for roofing for me.
I DO use them sometimes for more general carpentry--or on projects that are less physically demanding--they have their uses---but roofing everyday isn't right for 'em.

Have you ever tried a tool vest for roof work?Seems like it would eliminate the "low bags--sitting" issues. I've been using one for my trim work and like it...and they look so cool too. ;o)Edit to add: the vest would likely be too hot to wear on a roof in summer...but in Fall and Spring it could be nice. I go without the bags that hang from the bottom of the vest too.

basswood---- that contraption would never work for me.
1) to hot
2) I am in constant motion---constant----bent over and in the worst ergonomic positions-------------- that vest would be floppin' around constantly--- and the weight higher up my torso would throw my balance off.
My occy's---are awaiting my retirement from roofing into other work-meanwhile I have 2 other bags I switch back and forth with----one is a little too small
one is a little too big
I am NEVER satisfied

I also have an old set. Framers I believe. Belt, two bags, no suspenders.
( I mean old, like from the very early days of Occidental!, Maybe 1979/80)
They are in good shape, I quit wearing them because of the weight.
(well and the fact they hold water which ain't good here in rain country)
If you still are looking for some in a few days I will dig them out and send a pic along.
If he's not interested, send me a pic also. One of my guys is looking for bags (he has suspenders) in the $20 range.

I'm with you, any other guys want to come off theirs let me know.
One of my guys needs a good set of bags too. He loves my Occi lights, but can't afford a set. He'll take anything made to last.
Thanks
