alot of people here have different trades, I know some question are answer by some that has no exprience in that trade but still offer good info. But also some that offer info in their trade but no body pay attention too.
Idea: How about listing your trade in the tag line. That way I know I,m talking with a framer or house inspector.
My tag line would be ; 23 years geotech, specialize in foundation, soils, asphalt, concrete.
Just an idea thats all.

Good idea, but as someone recently suggested, it would be helpful if we filled out our profiles.

yes but how many read profile. What got me thinking was the soil backfill question. Everybody talk about the plate tamp. well, I work daily with plate tamps and testing soil. So I though of either tag line or maybe change name to " Brownbagg geotech" like " mojoman carp" or " mojoman roofer" or " Mojoman Buider" But I do think tag line should have location.

I have to agree profiles are best for that. I like not having what somebody does for a living listed in the post. I just take whatever idea or technique they describe and think about it without any additional baggage.
In a few cases it may be helpful, but think about all the BSing that could go along with a work tag. In my whole life I have only had one man introduce himself to me as a "master carpenter" and this poor fellow was a mess-- just a wannabe profiling as something he wished he could be. How many people are going to be fully honest and put up a tag that says "construction hack"?
Anyway I have found the present system to have been very helpful in pulling my chestnuts out of the fire on many occasions. Broken doors, warped doors, messed up door frames going into screwed up openings, terrible wall layout, how to do real complicated lay out, high security cipher locks, electronic locks, panic hardware from hell, working stainless steel, specialty tools to get you out of trouble or keep you out of trouble in the first place-- the list goes on and on of times others have posted great solutions to construction problems that were driving me up a wall.
Sooo-- if it ain't broken, don't fix it!
