We used Penofin's exotic wood oil which they recommended for Ipe. We had good luck with their products for cedar, but it is too early to say how this Ipe oil will work. So far, it doesn't look like it will last very long though. Any one else have experience with protecting Ipe? It looks like a million bucks when it is first oiled.
We are thinking about trying One Time, "the Ultimate Deck Protector" according to their promotional materials. We saw this at the IBS show this winter in Atlanta, and it did look promising. They were claiming 3 to 5 years before reapplication. THis would be much better than anything else we have seen.
