Just bought a nail gun that needs lubrication. The manual suggests a “drop a day” but I assume that this is based on “used all day.” What about a job today (eg pinning back on piece of furniture using maybe a dozen fasteners) and the next job (very unlikely to need to drive > 2 doz fasterers per job)might be several weeks off? Oil each time?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
Really just a single drop though. More and you'll see it on your work.
I had a roofing nailer. The instructions said it needed to be oiled everyday. I had it for two years and only did 5 roofs.
Man, I had oil everywhere.:>)
I just rebuilt my Bostitch finish nailer. I had way too much oily sludge in it. From now on it's no more than 2 drops a day.
