Does anyone know a source for old-fashioned parquet flooring? I’m talking about “tiles” that are 12 inches (or so) square, made up of slats about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches long.
I found one place — $12.00 per square foot!
Thanks,
Vince

damnand I passed on 4 boxes at $20 at a garage sale this summer.
We can imagine something that only exists in our heads, in a form that has no measureable, tangible reality, and make it actually occur in the real world. Where there was nothing, now there is something.

If the four boxes would cover the 168 sq ft that I have, and fopr $20, I would do it! (Even staying at 5-star motels on the way out and back, I would be ahead of the game.
Thanks for the reply,

There are a few around, like http://www.diyflooring.com/ps/product-type/hardwood.html?Ntt=parquet&N=4294967144&Ne=4&Ntk=All&stid=Yahoo:flooring+parquet&SiteID=975771
But if you're serious, do a search on "reclaimed" and "parquet flooring" and see if anyone in your area turns up; reclaimed runs around $3.00, but needs sanding and finishing.

Phill,
You know, I never thought of searching for reclaimed flooring. Good idea!
I'll also look at those sources you supplied.
Thanks very much,
