I am interested in reroofing my home with something other than asphalt shingles. Has anyone installed the Ondura corrugated roofing on their home? If so, would you recommend it to others? also, I live in a heavy snow area (over 100″/year) in northern Michigan. Would it be satisfactory under a heavy snow load?

I don't think the snowload would be a problem. I did a lot of work a couple years ago North of the Mac, in areas with 300" (Paradise, Marquette, etc.), and I remember seeing a lot of it, and seeing a whole lot of advertisements for it. I must apologize and say I haven't heard too much of it lately, and I do remember reading here, several years ago, about some problems with it...but since we can't go back and look at those threads, let's not use that information as gospel. I also considered it on some projects, but both I and the customers generally went with metal; we felt that on that kind of exposed fastener system (Ondura's nails versus metal screws), the screws would probably hold up better, and that the "slickness" of the metal would help in dumping the snow, particularly on the lower piteched roofs (10/12 and under). Sorry I can't be of more help....I think it is a cool, easy to use product, and would love to try it out sometime.

I used the red ondra on my son's tree house roof. I did not like it, i cut it with a circular saw and the cut was messy. the stuff seemed to be flimsy and by the time i was done i was filty, i looked like i was a coal miner.

I saw it again today at blowes and looked at the price. Whew! seems high for what you get 4'*6.5' for $12.90 And that does not includ underlayment, screws and insulation strips they sell for it. For 18.00 buy reg roofing and get 10'*10'. Or pay a little extra and get the metal. At least we can ass-ume it will last.Old Pro, not quite old, not quite pro, but closer every day on both...
Yes, I've used it and wouldn't recommend it. Reason I was installing iot was for customer whoi needed some replaced after only about seven years it was coming apart. I don't expect he'll see much more than that out of the replacement.
It'd be OK on a tree house, shed, or barn, I suppose - or maybe a rental where you were going over the old shingles if they weren't too bad.
