I’m faced with creating a 16″ wide by6″ deep ogee type plaster moulding on a curved soffit ten feet in the air. I’ve run 3/4″ plywood templates every 6″, to be covered with expanded wire lath. I’m making my metal profile knife for casting the plaster in place. My question, gentlemen, Is what grade(s) of plaster do I want to be using for Base coat, Scratch coat and Finish coat? I’ve never tackled a profile this large before, but It should be (messy) fun.
