OSB Radiant sheathing under Metal Roof?
I built my Workshop 14 years ago and on a basic budget. It has white colored R-panel metal roofing screwed down over a thin radiant barrier, rolled fiberglass with a white vapor barrier, and supported by chicken wire…
Now, due to hail, I can get a new roof replacement.
To replace the rolled radiant barrier material itself (.35 sq.ft.) , it would cost more than buying 7/16″ OSB with its own radiant barrier ($10 a sheet)…
With 2×2″ tubing for trusses and 2×2″ tubing stringers on 4′ centers, would it be that much better to go back with the OSB, 30lb. felt, and new R-panel? Or just put it back like it was originally installed?
Thanks for your help,
Bill
