I’m seeking an opinion from someone who has worked extensively with 3/4″ OSB subflooring I am currently in the process of having a new 2 story home built in Austin, TX. The framing was completed about 3-4 weeks ago. After about 3 months of complete drought, it has rained almost every day since they began framing (approx. 6-7 inches total). The builder just now decked /tar papered the roof. Water has been standing on the subfloor off and on during most of the framing process. The builder says that the subfloor will be OK since it’s OSB, not plywood, and is made to take this. I have some concerns about integrity and potential mold growth? You can already notice some uneveness around the perimeter of the planks. Is OSB is really designed to take being wet this long? It will be at least a month before it’s covered up, but it’s really humid here so how fast does the stuff dry out completely? Thanks for any expert opinions.
