I have washed my deck and want to stain it a brown color and maybe keep from going to grey. Is it possible to do this in a way that is does not have to be done so often. What are good products and processes to achieve this.

Ron, some of the things you have not told us is what kind of wood you have out there, how old it is, and stuff like that.
Almost every manufacturer has a range of colours which will go into the wood and do a great job for you. I use Benjamin Moore, but what the heck, look for a set of colours you like in oil stain, and go for it.
