Good question, one I'm keen to see an answer for.

Well, I'm not sure I've ever seen the manteled gas yard lamps ever flicker. However, any decent supply house ought to be able to connect you with either standard (medium) or candelabra-based lamps that flicker. Now, that "flicker" is an odd thing in that lamp. It's very voltage sensitive; and not very bright, in lumens. I want to remember that they only run about 15-20W, though--which is not a lot of output for a person's path up to the house.
