With a name like that, it’s gotta be good!
Anybody have any experience with one? It’s supposed to shoot 2 – 3 1/2″ clipped or round head nails. Sounds perfect, is it? I need a new framing gun.
Pointy-headed, but very curious, BB

I'm not a "pro" so my opinion might not carry a whole bunch of weight, and I've only had one a week, but I am REALLY pleased with mine. I've been shooting 2 3/8 and 3 1/4 roundrives on the last two weekends into P.T. and the only problem has been the nut behind the trigger :)

*I don't know the difference between the Power Master and the 'Plus Model. I have been using the Power Master for years. I mostly shoot 3" ring shank. It has never misfired for me under normal conditions. I worked on a barn once that had cedar rafters, I turned the pressure down real low and it misfired once or twice per magazine load. At my day job I buy only Paslode for our crating and packing departments with very few problems.-Rob
*RobHow much pressure does this gun need and what size hose are you useing.Martin.
*I had it down to 70 psi on the cedar rafters. Usually I run it between 80 and 100 psi. My barn had some oak rafters and 110psi wouldn't drive 'em in. But then again, the jolt from the gun on my wrists and arms was so painful I couldn't hold it firmly. My hoses start out 1/2" double wall heavy duty (already had them for air tools) up to 50'. Then 3/8" yellow pvc jacketed rubber for 150'. Then 1/4" rubber single braid (very flexible) for the last 10'. The 1/4" started out longer, but the thin wall wears out in a season, so I keep cutting it and having new ends crimped on it.Recently had all hoses connected together and had no problem rapid-firing at 85 psi.-Rob
*Rob Thanks for your reply, the reson I asked is that I have just purchased my first air nailer. It's only an 18g brad nailer but it was surposed to be able to use 16 to 50mm brads but I have got it up to 120 psi on 50's and it still will not drive them all the way in. I have contacted the supplier of the gun and the compresser and told them that I'm not inpressed, and that there must be a problem with one or the other of them, but am still awaiting a reply.Your reply to my question has just confirmed what I thought.Martin.
*Definetly a problem with the gun, unless you are going into Ironwood or Locust! I have a Porter-Cable 15 ga finish nailer. Just ran some 2 1/2 nails into cherry at 90 psi.-Rob
*Okay guys, From what I've seen and read, this gun (Paslode Powermaster Plus) is a clipped head gun. However, BuckSnort mentioned it's supposed to shoot both. So.... What is it? Thinkin' about purchasing one but would like to clear this up. The guns I've used shoot one or the other but not both... Sam
*SamDPaslode has a "roundrive" nail. Full round head, but offset on the nail shank.Scott
*I have had this gun for 2 years going on 3. I have never had a problem with it. I don't know how well it shoots round heads; I have only used the clip heads. It is a great gun.
*I bought a Senco Framepro about four months ago. I was looking at the Paslode too, but I've mostly been using Senco for years and dedided to stick with the tried and true. I'm glad it did. This is a great tool -- it hasn't misfired on me yet and I like the depth control feature. But the best thing is that it is so light and easy to handle. The angled mag lets you get into anywhere and helps you see better. I would definitely recommend you check it out.Roy
