I am looking to redo my outside patio. I have aggregate now and hate it…it always looks dirty and if I put a gloss on it, it lasts about 2 months. I actually want to extend the patio surface and need input on suggestions — concrete (perhaps stamped and/or colored), other stone that is not too expensive. Plus, how much per square foot should I be thinking cost-wise?

Lots of variables...tell us more...where are you...more specifics on what you want.
I just bought about 2 tons of flagstones for a patio job, paid $2/sf for an estimated 300 sf of stone.
HI, I am from Oregon, a small town outside of Salem. Your flagstone price is incredible! Where did you get it and are you installing it yourself?
Bought it from Garza Stone & Masonry on the sw side of San Antonio. They have been in business for bout a million years, just relocated about a year ago because the city bought their land. New place is a couple of acres of different types of stone. That was just the material price, just the stone not the sand etc, and the labor is me. Want to come help?
I did a paver patio and walkway a couple of years ago and am very happy with it, more importantly, so is the wife. I believe the brand name is Bolduc and I paid $2.89 sq ft. Lots of styles and colors. I laid them over a base of tamped stone dust and its held up well so far. My neighbor is a concrete contractor and we talked to him about the dyed/stamped concrete. His only concern was that if you ever needed to do a repair it would be difficult to impossible to match up, although you would hope that wouldnt be of great concern if the job was done correctly
