I am looking for publications that teach basic construction drawing. I want to be able to draw residential plans for simple room additions, decks, porches, attic finishes, basement finishes, etc. that probably don’t always require an architect. Does anyone have any good resources?

Taunton has a couple of books with framing details, interior details that could be helpful. years ago there was an article about doing your own drawings that was pretty basic.
Maybe if it's the basics you want, Ebay or Half.com for some old drafting textbooks would be a cheap start.

best deal i know of would be a night school class in architectural drafting.... but..most of the drafting is now done on CAD...
pick up a text at your library... "Architectural Drafting "....some pencils and paper at an art store or blueprint supply house... and have at it..
the bible is Architectural Graphic Standards... and Time-Saver Standards is another standard referenceMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
