PEX Crimp Tool – Any Reccomendations?
Got a couple projects coming up where I think it would be nice to run PEX. Like the price of the pipe compared to copper – though the fittings are rather expensive.
Anyway, I have decided I want to run some PEX – anyone recommend any one brand of crimper over another? Anything special to look for?
Most seem to be right around $100 for a crimper that does one size pipe.
Menards had one for $80 that does both 1/2″ and 3/4″ any reason to avoid this?
Any and all information appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Shoe

I just picked one up and in a week or so, I should be able to provide you w/ some feedback...getting ready to do a house. My thoughts in picking it up was rather than 2 separate when one could do...
I'll post more when I know more...

Thanks for the response. I look forward to your findings.
I have the Zurn 3/4" and 1/2" crimpers ~$100 each. They work great - I would think quality control would really have to be low to get it wrong.
That is what I was kinda thinking.
Maybe this could be one tool I could skimp a bit on. It certainly won't see any real use.
Is renting one for a day an option?
Treat every person you meet like you will know them the rest of your life - you just might!
I thought about renting breifly. Then thought I should just buy one - got a couple other small projects I think it would be handy on.
