Pex install?
Can anyone suggest a plumbing book / manual covering Pex tubing? I own several plumbing books but Pex is seldom mentioned if at all. I’m interested in a book or manual that goes into design specifics to include pipe sizing, pressure requirements, manifolds, distribution lines etc.
Thanks
John

John, try this link, there are several books to choose from. Also the "Wall" is a another great place to ask hydronic heating questions. http://www.heatinghelp.com/shopcart/index.cfm?category=2

What I am looking for is plumbing (potable water supply) books or manuals focusing on Pex tubing.
EDJW: thanks for the link to radiated heating; I'll save it for another project.
Hi John:
I ran AquaPex in my house...I also couldn't find a whole lot on the topic. Look through the Wirsbo stuff...if you haven't...they have some information. If you go with Wirsbo, you'll buy the expansion tool...and there's a little "booklet" in there that talks about basic running of PEX. Nothing more than the obvious though really. Seems to work great!
I have 1" manifolds that feed all the PEX lines...homeruns to the fixtures...a valve for each off the manifold. Bought them from Wirsbo...18 cold lines, 12 hot.
I think it looks great and I think it will work great. Couldn't be easier to snake the PEX. I think the only "tricks" are not to kink it, although it can be heated and repaired, and not to clamp it too tightly.
I hired some folks to install my boilder and do the near boiler radiant plumbing...and they were very pleased with my work. All they could say was "overkill".
just don't overkill too much on the hot water line size unless you have recirc.
Don't you know only pros should install PEX?

just kidding. relax.
What brand are you planning to use?
Tip: Rehau makes the best fitting system on the market! And their tubing is made with the Engel method which is the best. Same as Wirsbo.
