What is the preferred way to terminate pex runs at fixtures for shutoffs and whatnot??
I see pex integrated shutoffs the tubing runs right into but this seems totally flimsy not anchored…
Brass drop eared units, brass nipples threaded then angles stops ? Is that overkill?
Howyoudodat?
Thx,
Pat

For under sinks I don't think it's anything to worry about. I just used pex-to-3/8" compression ball valves without any fastening to studs. As for toilets, where the shutoff is exposed, I'd like to know what looks best too.
Scott.
Always remember those first immortal words that Adam said to Eve, “You’d better stand back, I don’t know how big this thing’s going to get.”
They (Wirsbo, anyway) makes a copper angled and straight termination for Pex. If I recall correctly, they have attachment points built in and swaged ends for pressure testing.
I used some of the pre-formed copper 90s with an attached bracket where I could. I made 90s and sweated pex fitting on the ends for others. I hate the looks of a piece of plastic tube sticking out of a wall or the floor. I ended up using regular valved stops at the ends of the copper.
as was said wirsbo makes & sells copper ells... for stubout... i think if you get any discount at all the 3x8inch 1/2" ones cost is about $2.50 we make em up if we have to but for that price not worth it... you can find em on ebay for about $50 for 25 alot of times... we use em everywhere a waterline leaves the wall...

Somebody makes a plumbing roughin box.
Comes with the stop vavle and terminations for PEX (and also copper and CPVC).
Install it and hook it up like an electrical box. After DW there is a trim ring that goes on it. No other plumbing to do other than run the fixture whip.
I have no idea of the cost.
I THOUGHT that Watts maked then, but could not find it on their web site.
Found that box on Ebay.. but no manufacturer listed. I have consolidated plumbing supply here--I bought the first round of stuff from them to get the tool and get started... I'll ask them about it.
Thanks!
