I committed do repainting one of our rooms. It had been papered over plaster and then painted over to paper. I’ve got most of the paper removed now, one wall to go. One wall s a mess where sever spots the original skim coat was cracked and came off leaving several areas of a couple of square feet that need to be repaired. So I have questions.
What do I use to replace the original skim coat? I’m not sure where to go to get materials. All I know about are the big box stores and all they have is plaster of paris and patching plaster.
The other thing is tools. What kind of trowels should I look for? All I seem to find are for concrete work and not sure if these will work or not.
thanks
