Please help me decide on range and hood!

dipika4564 | Posted in General Discussion on March 24, 2012 01:04am

We are starting a kitchen renovation, which will give us a lot more working area & storage space within the same smallish footprint. Cabinets have been ordered, granite countertop nearing decision, general look & feel of the kitchen decided. I’m sure I will be coming back with other questions later.

I’ve been lurking here, and reading reviews on other sites, trying to decide on which gas or dual-fuel range. Several people have recommended the GE Cafe, and then I read some very negative reviews about it. Saw raves here on the Bertalozzi, but reports of small oven & fan running automatically. MIxed reviews of Electrolux. How is Bosch?

For now i am looking at these range hoods, any advice would be welcome !

Really?   I hadn't remembered any comment on Bertalozzi so I searched up above and oddly, the only mention here on BT is your post.

    So then I googled Bertalozzi.

    And look what I found:

Now, with your same post on several other sites, making like you went there specifically and hunted for info and then inserted those Hood Links.........................

Got to hand it to you, pretty creative spam.

If you should come back and prove me wrong, then I certainly present my apology.

That did seem like awfully fancy hardware for a "smallish kitchen".

      1. calvin | Mar 24, 2012 08:38pm | #3

I very well could be wrong.

I looked at a few of the links when I  googled.  Many were different forms of the same question-some listed those three hoods.  Some sounded like kings english, others as if it was a second or third language.

The one I got a kick out of mentioned price might be a concern-and it was confusing as the question was directed to choosing both range and hoods...............but the comical part was that they would like to perhaps save some money-as travel could be what they could use the savings for..............still, 2500.00 was in the budget (range I suppose-that would be one hell of a hood).

But again, if that isn't a serious post-pretty darn creative.

Yeah, I have a pretty sensitive nose, and I didn't smell a rat.

(I was about to post and tell him to not consider any GE range hoods (too noisy) but when I looked at his links I figured that wasn't a danger anyway.)

        2. DanH | Mar 24, 2012 09:18pm | #5

The language was apparently cut from this post going back to last May: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg050129122134.html .  Then the links were added.  Probably the poster doesn't speak very good ingleesh and so decided to copy, since Chinglish is a dead giveaway for spam.

I saw one followup on one of the spam posts that said the links were showing "suspicious", but Norton didn't complain when I went to them.  I guess he's just trying to promote that web site.

If it turns out to have been spam...........

then I surely nominate the poster for creative inclusion of what, I don't know.

....and I thought this was just going to be a boring post about cheap range hoods that look good vs. a good hood for mega bucks!  lol

I can't ever remember seeing spam this blatant when I used to come here a lot a year ago!  lol   Times are a changing :)
