Can anyone recommend a good plumbing book/manual that outlines specs and codes such as drain pipe sizing, how far vents can be away from stacks, etc. I saw the 2 on the Taunton store and am wondering if these will cover what I need. Thanks -Ed

You may also want to look at "Plumbing a House" by Peter Hemp. It's a pretty thorough book on plumbing with specs and design ideas. Definitely not a Black and Decker how to fix you faucet book.
I've just been through this. I didn't find any one book that I thought was comprehensive on the subject.
A friend and I did all the DWV and copper on my 2600 sq ft addition. 3 bathrooms and a kitchen with 4 wet areas.
I'd say look at all the books and take your best shot, BUT - also talk to the inspector who'll be working with you later. WE found a number of items that the books recommended that the inspector didn't allow.
I found that the inspectors in my area were really ready to help!

RK, that's pretty much what I've found in all the books that I've been looking through. I'll sketch out what I want to do and show it to the inspector. Thanks to everyone for their help. -Ed
