I would like to know which polyurethane product is the best for hardwood floors. It has been stripped and a coat of oil based poly was applied but it left the floors dull. I’m buying the house in which these dull floors are located.

One coat of poly is insufficient for shine or protection.
Assuming that the 1st coat was cut with mineral spirits, sand the first coat, vaccum and tact, then apply a second coat of gloss poly with a good brand name. "Last and Last" is preferred here by floor finishers but any good brand name will do. Let the second coat dry and repeat being sure to get rid of all traces of dust between sanding and coating. If the first coat has bubbled because it wasn't cut, hand sand the bubbled areas or use a buffer with a 100 grit screen, or go back and drum sand it. The more poly, the more shine and protection you will have. I like 3 or 4 coats.
*Do you cut the second coat at all, or just use the poly full strength on remaining coats?Matt
*Carlos, Do something nice for yourself and try some WATERLOX URETHANE. I just used the XL-89 satin urethane,(also recomended for hardwood floors) in a 50/50 mix with naptha on a dresser I built and this is good stuff!! They have about 20 different products to choose from and it appears to be high quality. Waterlox coatings corporation 1-800-321-0377. Bill
