Power tools are fantastic when they work. I have a Porter Cable jigsaw that died & I sent to one of their factory service centers, where it sat for 2 solid months before anyone could even acknowledge that they had it. I bought the replacement 4 weeks ago because I couldn’t stand using my spare any longer. When I buy a proffesional tool I expect to get proffesional service. I guess that’s why Delta/ Porter Cable just hit the bottom of my list!!!!!!

I had a good experience with PC. one of my 12v batteries died and my charger after 2 years, took it to the service center and they gave me a new battery and charger on the spot for free.
*I think the difference is sending it somewhere versus taking it in to a local service center. When the switch died on my Sawboss after six years, I took it in, had it back in a week. Total cost was under ten bucks. I think if you go to the PC website, they have local service centers that can help you. But I'd still send a pretty strong complaint letter if I were you...
*We waited 2 1/2 mos, before our Delta miter saw parts finally arrived (about $25 worth), next time I will know better if I buy PC/Delta.
*Got parts for my 45year old Unisaw from delta, 10 days, and they also faxed me the original onwers manual. Cant complainDavid
*I've had pretty good luck with delta. they sent me some repair parts for my contractors saw and i got them fairly quick. not to much down time. most of the time if the tool is under warranty (2 years for delta) i take it back to the store and they swap it out for a new one and send the old one back to the manufacturer for me.
*I had a year old trim saw in for repair (the blade wasn't square to the base) it took two months waiting for parts. It seem the there was some consolidation/relocation of warehouse facilities in Tennessee. I hope they straighten this out, I'd like to know if this improves. Other than the long wait I'm satisfied--they replaced the saw with a new one!
