A few years ago I installed a driveway gate for a business the kind that swings open just constructed from steel welded pipe. The hinge side is attached to a 6†pipe set into the ground with concrete around it. I installed it to manufactures specs. The problem is that its location sees flooding and has now caused the post to become loose due to poor soil structure. The company has called me to fix it. Any ideas on how to make the post stay in a flood prone area.

A longer post would help.
What they do here at cattle crossing fence meets creek is set post in 55 gallon barrel of concrete and bury that.

This may be overkill, but how about having a well driller install a 21' length of 6" pipe?
