I presently have a 100amp service in a large old home. Old fuse panel was recently changed out to new 100amp GE panel. Since the kitchen remodel is about to get underway, I would like to have the service upgraded to 200amp. Question: Can another 100amp panel be mounted in close proximity (i.e. same wall location) as the one that’s there already (and the 200amp service “split” between the two), or does a new 200amp panel have to be installed instead (remove the existing 100amp panel. Thanks in advance.
