‘Morning all –
I saw on the tube last week, and failed to write down, the name of a fast tack construction adhesive. I’m looking for something that will allow me to glue 2″ blue foam board to an exterior foundation wall, then walk away and have it stay there. Anyone know the stick-um I’m referring to, or have another name of one that’ll do the job?
Thanx, and have a good day.

Dang, You're changing your name as fast as ___oops, I almost broke ranks___
;)
I use PL 300 for foam.
You can use any of these as a faster cure by slaping together and then pulling off to let air in and then back toether again. Careful with foam though so it doesn't break.
Enerfoam is a spray gun tyupe that is formulated for a sheet rock and foam adhesive too but I don't know how quick it kicks in an application like that. I've only used it as a crack filler.
Excellence is its own reward!
Enerfoam takes a long time, every rake & shovel & pieces of whatever you can find to brace each sheet while it sets. AND, if you don't have it braced well, the foam will expand and push the sheet away from the wall. Good stuff, but not the answer he's looking for..

It might work OK in the deep south. I see those crews leaning against the walls on the shady side a lot down there.
LOL.

This would be it, methinks. http://www.loctiteproducts.com/Loctite_Products/detail.asp?catid=45&subid=113&plid=482
If you use it, I want to hear a report. I am thinking about covering a drwall kitchen ceiling with some of those the thin, pine beaded boards, (Not plybead!) and want to minimize the number of nails I have to use.
This Loctite stuff looks like just the ticket. But I don't want to experiment on a ceiling, only to have it come tumbling down on my head.
So PLEASE, get yourself some, use it and report back...

Hey, I think that's the one I was thinking about ... thanks. Can you wait about 8 weeks for my test report?
Having put up numerous miles of pine beadboard, my fist thought is that it's gonna be rough getting all the crooked one sucked together without enough nails.Formerly BEMW at The High Desert Group LLC
Better check to see if the Loctite product is rated for foamboard (some glue solvents melt the foam). Probably okay, being latex-based, but the Loctite site doesn't even list foamboard as a material for gluing.

Tim
Oh, I know I'll need some nails, but since I have trusses on 24" centers, and insufficient ceiling height to strap it, I thought maybe the quick hold of this stuff would help keep the wood flat against the old drywall.
BTW -- Did you notice that they have a panel adhesive in that brand, too. It also claims to have quick holding power.
