I’m remodeling a kitchen. The homeowner wants a big pro-style range hood, and wants it to be quiet. Almost every manufacter claims their hoods are quiet, but none of them own up to specifying the noise output of their hoods. Two questions — Anybody have any recommendations for big quiet hoods? And does remote-mounting the fan reduce the noise enough to be worth the trouble?
