I have a client that lives in a condo and would like to try and eliminate as much of the noise for other tenants.
I have heard of quietrock but nothing about it from a hands on experience.
Can anyone give me any feed back. I have looked at there web site
I just want some real world feedback..
Thanks
Frank

If it is the same stuff we used recently it is pretty darn expensive for starters. Secondly it is heavy as a bear, showing surface gypsum and back surface similar to cement board, which demands carbide cutting bits. Some question as to penetrations, like electrical boxes weaken the sound control, though soundproofing sealer recommended to seal gaps.
Let's not confuse the issue with facts!
It is quite expensive, but works very well depending on what type of sound you are trying to eliminate. Deeper base type sounds aren't absorbed as well as other sounds (eg. conversation etc.)
You definetly have to soundproof any electrical boxes, as any break in the system will allow sound penetration.

it be cheaper to pick up a rock and beat the neighbor till they are quiet
It works very well, but the key is to be scrupulous about the sealing. I'm talking about the level of sealing that is making sure you don't have any gaps that an ant could get through.
They have several varieties, depending on the level of acoustical performance you need, including one that is pretty lightweight.
