I’m working at a house where they have a rather unusual bathroom.
Check out this “vanity”. It’s really just a table with a glass top and a porcelain sink on top of that. None of it is secured so I have to be careful not to bump it. And notice how they got the drain and supplies over to the new sink location.
I would have expected a little more attention to detail considering how much effort/money went into that floor.

Not my cup of tea! What happens when the homowner or a guest who doesn't know better, bumps it! Doesn't seem like a good thing to me. It'd be different if it were so astoundingly beautiful as to make the inconvenience worth it, but I don't see it!
it's a "look". God bless designers. You can get your whole kitchen done like that, if you've got the money....
While you're there how about setting the sink with some adhesive caulk?
The original installer certainly could have taken more time with the details. Could have at least used metal drain parts.

It would be in my nature to do just that sort of thing, but in this case, that sink has all the earmarks of a disaster waiting to happen and I don't want to have anything to do with it.
I adhere to the "you touch it, you own it" school of thought and there have been too many times where I thought to myself afterwards that I never should have touched it.
If you look carefully at the glass top, you can see that it's not centered on the table. It's barely resting on the stand-off on the right side. I tried to slide it over a little more to where it should be, but it was hard to do without stressing the drain. At that point, I said to myself "don't touch it".
Good call. Did you at least mention it to them?

Not yet, but I will. Along with another item or 2 that they may want to look into.
this makes me feel a little better about one we straightened out recently that fell into the same category.
exposed PVC drain ? sweet.
the lavy bowl should have been centered.
really nice rusty register on the floor beneath the vanity too. $1.99.
