I have a house with radiant floors and have never heard the wood clicking you are talking about. I have 1 1/2″ of gyp-crete over standard underlayment. I then glued down laminated wood flooring over that. I used Mannington product because at the time (1993) they were one of the few who would warrant their product over radiant heat.
It is a wonderful heat and I highly recommend it.

Physical laws tell us that heat causes expansion in objects and cold causes contraction. If I were to use radiant heating in my new house which sounds very appealing, what will prevent the floors or radiant tubing from expanding and causing the all too familiar sounds of "wood clicking".I'm told this happens frequently. Is this a sign of an impropper installation? I'm planning on using all wood floors and was thinking of using those special tubing floor panels made for wood floor installations.Any comments? Bring em on. Thanks. Sparky
