I am remodeling our kitchen which includes moving the location of the range. Current setup has a cooktop in the island with a down draft vent. New range will be vented through a hood, but I am unable to run it up and through the attic. There is an eave that extends past the exterior kitchen wall. My plan is to vent the range through there. The roof cap would be well clear of any openings but is there any reason why installing in this location would not be a good idea? The picture generally shows what I’m talking about.
Update: I’d delete the post but not sure how. Won’t be able to run it up through the roof…there’s a laminated beam in the way. Will have to run it through the dining room and out the side of the house.
