I just installed a wall mounted range hood, ran the vent, wired it up all looked good. Turned it on and it vibrates so much against the drywall it it sounds like it’s shakin down the house. I’ve tried some cork pads like the kind that come on window but they just transfer the vibration too. Any suggestions.

I been sitting here trying hard to remember a couple of mine.. There was one that when it ran at a certain speed, the flapper would bounce up and down and make a terrible racket! Slower and the flap would open only halfway or so. Faster and it would open and stay open. but middle speed would make it fight gravity and bounce.I think I installed a spring on the flap to increase resistance to flow. That smoothed it out.I think you are right that the fan is mismounted, shaft bent, or packing is causing this though

Wish I could laugh mine off.
check that motor, mount and shaft. Something is a cause. You just have to find the source. What brand and model is it?

Check the mounting as already suggested.
Once installed a heat pump that had shipping damage. One part of the damage not seen was one of the bolts on the compressor mounting had stripped, that 4 HP motor did shake the house!, and it was on a concrete pad outside.
Fixing the mount quieted it right down.
If it a squirrell cage blower, if the squirrel cage got bent just a little in shipping, it will vibrate fiercly. Spin by hand and check the runout.
If the sound made is sort of a 'whomp ... whomp,' then your problem is not enough make-up air. You'll also likely notice a tendency of doors to slam, etc.
It happens only on high speed. I can pull it off the wall just slightly and it stops. It's most definitely bouncing off the wall and I'm pretty sure the fan/squirrel cage isn't out of alignment. It is however just hanging off the mounting bracket as provided and not fastened to the wall and it seems to not bounce as much when I physically push it back into the wall but there doesn't appear to be anything in the installation instructions that says to hard fasten it to the wall. I'll see if I can figger something out.

Do a quick test . Open a window close to the exhaust fan, run the fan at high speed and see if the fan vibrates. Then close the window and see if the vibrations start. If the vibrations increase dramatically you have a lack of make up air, or restrictions in the exhaust.
If not you have an out of balance fan .

Dovetail,
Thanks for the experiment. I tried it with the window open and it didn't make any difference. How do you fix an out of alignment fan?
Call the manufacturer's technical support department.
Google the brand name if you have nothing else.
"I" don't. I call or bring the thing back to where I got it from and have them deal with it. Customer service, tech help or a new one their choice.
(Although "I" would be pretty insistent on a new one.)
