As an upgrade alternative to using rough sawn ply on soffit…thinking about 1×4 select tight knot beaded cieling bd.
Lumber yard guy suggested it. Then I saw an article in Remodeler where they used it. Looked good in photos, but no mention was made as to best way to attach it or how to finish it. In one of the photos it was dusk and the outdoor light kind of reflected on it, so it might of had a varnish type of finish. But I’m thinking varnish would crack. The house was in Minneapolis.
Anyone suggestion?
Thanks,
John

*Nail it up and paint it blue.
*John,Makes a beautiful soffit. Mitre the corners, and like the man sez.....nail it up and paint it. The color should be your wife's choice. But blue is OK with me. It's your house.Ed.
*Solid color stain would be less prep work years later when it comes recoat time, although it should last a long time being dry and out from the sun.djk
