Hi,
The scene: 1937 Cape home, central western Massachusetts, under the sink in the first floor half bath…
The trap and wall tube are corroded, the trap is leaking. The drain plug is stuck on plugged. So I’m replacing the whole kit and kaboodle.
I have all the pieces removed except the wall tube, which is stuck. I’m looking for suggestions about how to get it out. It’s fastened into a heavy-duty iron elbow in the wall. The plaster is cracked off the wall, so access is not a problem. There’s a ring of something metal, I don’t know what, at the interface of the wall tube and elbow, that appears to be holding the tube in place. Along with some help from corrosion, I imagine.
How do I get this sucker out of there?
