Greetings all,
I’m removing the old vinyl flooriing in a customer’s kitchen. Of course, around the edges, the stuff is peeling up nicely and will come off easily. But what about the more stubborn spots where the adhesive really worked? I want to get the plywood underlayment cleaned up good enough for snap-locking Armstrong flooring, which requires a thin foam pad underneath. Any tips for removing old vinyl and getting the subfloor to come out pretty clean?
Thanks

If you're putting down snap-lock laminate flooring, why are you bothering to remove the vinyl? An uneccessary step. If the edges are peeling up, glue 'em back down and lay your floor.
You can check the post in this 'General Discussion' column titled 'carpet over pine floors' for some recommendations.
Half of good livin' is staying out of bad situations.
