Just got the new catalog from ridgid tools-The line looks to be shrinking and cheapening. I see the hammer drills are no longer made by Metabo. Sad to say because I have one of the older hammerdrills and it is a solid piece of engineering. I really like the pulse feature as it mimics aan impact driver for driving stuborn screws…
The newer models are more akin to Ryobi by the looks of things. I Noticed too that they no longer have the large rt.angle drill.
I have never heard of anyone using the lifetime warranty on these tools-I always figured it sounded too good to be true. I mean free replacement batteries? There goes the profit margin!

Maybe it is going the way of some other US tool lines. Made by some other manufacturer, changing all the time, lack of parts or support if it needs it, etc.
That's the impression I got when I looked at the website.
I like things or people that are in it for the long haul.
when I wanted the ridgid 6.5" circular saw, I went to a local industrial supply that has been a dealer of ridgid for a hundred years or so - he couldn't get it for me - explained that ridgid has different catalogs for different businesses - pipe threaders and various other 'industrial' tools, parts for them, he's right on it - - mass market tools not so much -
if you have a specific need, you might want to broaden your search beyond the online/consumer catalog -
