ridgid metal ducts: dumpster or salvage?
I’m removing the old duct system in my project house. Main trunk is ridgid, rectangular, two piece stuff. Branches are ridgid round (6″).
Chuck it into the dumpster, or haul it to the salvage yard?

I think scrap metal is about $0.04/lb. Your call. Responsible thing would be to set it out for recyclers/scrap collectors.
Where are you located? If closeby to Philadelphia, I would consider taking the 6" round off your hands.

About 13-14 hrs West, south-west. Don't think it would be cost effective at $2.30/gallon of gas. :)

Recycling it's a no-brainer. Here I either stop at the metal recycling bin and throw it in, or drive past there to the scalehouse, where I'll pay .11 per pound to landfill it. Plus, if you scrap it the Chinese can buy it and recycle it into rebar for a new dam.
I give my old ducts to the scrap guy(he seems to find me no matter where I work). I would never amass enough to make it worth it to me, but he does.
