Recently built house in northern Ontario and used “Touch’n Foam Professional” spray foam on rim joists. Regrettably, likely due to temperature of rim board (sprayed in fall), full adhesion to the board and expansion of the foam did not occur in all areas. Some areas did.
As a fix, I propose to add more “Great Stuff” foam to where did not affix or expand and then supplement insulation with rockwool. My concern is for vapour barrier issues. In hindsight, I would have been better to contract the job to foam spraying firm or just used traditional approach and sealed inner edges with caulk, used pink insulation and 6mil plastic to finish. However, I am where I am.
Is there any advice/help short or removing the foam and starting over.
Thanks for any help.
