We bought a new house in Temecula, CA four years ago where the temperature approaches 100 for much of the summer. Code requires insulation above the ceiling, of which we have plenty. This is great for keeping the heat in in the winter, but does little to keep the heat out in the summer. I’ve installed an attic fan, but I think insulation applied under the roof would be more effective. What would be a good product for this application and what is the cost? Thanks.

Try putting Astro-Foil between the rafters or stapled to the bottom of the rafters.
