As we all know, we have had a heavy snow storm in the past week in the northeast. Most of the snow on the roof either slid off or melted over the past few days. Very small amounts of snow are still on the roof. Well, now I found a water stain in the kitchen at the intersection of the roof and the wall. Bad part about it is that this home was just finished in 2019. Brand new home. I have attached a few photos. You can see a photo of the roof during construction a few years ago. Gutters seem fine, no ice build up. Any ideas on what might be the cause ? Missing flashing ? workmanship? We have had a similar situation a few months ago in a different part of the house where the garage meets the house. It is attached garage. Something tells me that a roof component was left out or missing. I find it odd for a roof with less than 3 years is already failing.

Are you sure it's from a roof leak? Any chance it's condensation from the interior? I'd guess though that you may have had snow blow up under the eaves and get in through the soffit vents. Can you get into the attic and look?
Yes, it was very windy yesterday. Good possibility it's snow getting through the soffits. Builder is going to be visiting to check. Otherwise, I can take a look.
How does the leak line up with that upper roof downspout stub?
The valley also appears to dump just past the end of the gutter.
A kick out flashing and that stub kicking out as well (or continuing down to the lower gutter) could be an answer.
I take it this problem didn’t show up in previous winters? Since built, is this a first time problem?
A small leak that slowly wets ceiling insulation can show up days later. If you can access that are you might still find wet insulation and a hint at entry.
To answer that question. Yes, that valley transition lines up almost perfectly along with that downspout where this water stain is. This is the 1st time we have noticed a spot on the drywall in the kitchen after the snowstorm . The stained spot is right at the intersection of wall and ceiling. We've had a similar problem where the garage meets the house, attached garage. Builder came out to look at it in November. Claims it was condensation buildup and runoff from gas furnace flue pipe on the attic side. We have had our run ins with our homebuilder, better said as problems. After Thanksgiving holiday, found more problems with vinyl siding when I was hanging lights. You can see plywood in certain areas where j channel meets the soffits. The more I look, the more I research the more I point my finger at workmanship. I just find it odd for events like this to happen with the home being finished in 2019.
