I’ve been warned about this in the past but nevr actually had the problem. Two bits … a 5/8’s and a 1/2 incher stuck in the cement of an old foundation …. down through the sill-plate and fixed SOLIDLY in the concrete. Worked at gettting both of them out for over an hour each … reefin on ’em with vice grips and lever n fulcrum and liquid wrench, etc. Nada. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. ((and yes … there very likely IS a bit of re-bar in there … in ONE of them, at least.)
Any wisdom on this from anywhere????
Thanks in advance…
Aaron.

Aaron,
Never, I say agin, NEVER plunge a concrete bit (or a twist drill bit into wood) all the way to the hilt. If you make short plunges and clear out the hole of dust everytime you retract, you will never have this problem again.
A little tip from your Uncle Ed.
What happens is that the dust compacts around the bit and wedges it into the hole.
Getting it out once you've done this? You have to get the dust out from around the twist.
Just keep bangin' and pullin' and twisting a little at a time. It will come out.....some day.

*Aaron:Been there, done that! I think I finally got mine out with a combination of vice grips and a crow bar.The good news is: you will only make this mistake once! Oh-oh - you already made it 2x?? Humm???
