i’ve been looking at them. I have that old PC 3/4 hp dome-top router. I would like to get a combo kit that has compatable bases with the old style PC base/motor. Anyone know if the new PC router combo kits are the same in that reguard as the old ones?
I dont know if this is true but i i’d allways assumed that PC had set the standard for routers and that many were compatable with the old style base. Is it still like that? Pardon my ignorance.
I was looking at the bosch combo, the new PC combo, and that weird looking new hitachi combo. Anyone know if those guys are compatable with old school rockwell/pc bases?
how about opinions on those three kits?
Thanks for your time everyone.

I'm actually looking at the combo kits myself. I'm thinking either the PC or the bosch. I looked at the PC(older model not the new one) and I wasnt impressed with the plunge action, it was a little sticky. Anyone have opinions of either of these kits?
I think if I was looking at PC, I would think hard on the one with the vacuum attachment. I think its a good thing to have around, even if I didnt use it all the time.
But Id really like to see that new 2 1/2 hitach combo set up.
i really like the one(one of the new PC kits) that comes with the depth through the table attatchment.-->

If you havent seen it check out the new clip head framing nailer... one of the guys the other day said they look like Hulk tools. They also said they would be getting one as soon as they could. lol
haha, yeah, ive only seen pics. Hitachi must have got some new designers. Blue eyed devil posted about the new framing gun a few days ago and people definatly have mixed opinions.-->

You can still get the older 690 combo kits. I'm not sure if the new 890 bases will fit the old motors. I'm going to get a bunch of flak but I think your old Model 100 was one of the best routers ever made.
heh, thats what my pop says too, he had that thing for.. i think about 10 or 15 years and used it every day. At one time he had 10 routers set up in different ways to make things more efficient in the shop but this little guy was his favorite. I've been pretty suprised myself about how much it can handle for only 3/4hp and its got a nice feel to it, very easy to control.-->
