A lady that works with my wife does alot of projects around the house and (no surprise) burned out the B & D finish sander that she had. So she asked me to recommend a decent sander. I’ve got a PC finish sander (the one with the breast-shaped top . . . oh how I love to hold that thing), a PC 5″ ROS, a PC 6″ ROS, a Milwaukee 9″ disk monster, and probably a few others if I think hard enough. They all work well for the job but if I had to get along with just one, it would probably be the 5″ ROS (it’s the single speed model which seems to work just fine).
The thing is, I haven’t looked at one for about five years. Is there something better out there i.e. more bang for the buck. The PC 5″ fixed speed ROS is available for about $59 from Coastal Tool. Any opinions?

came down to the pc or ridgid
choose the rigid because it felt better in my hand.

we bought a Ridgid for work, I own 3 or so PC's
I'd buy either again if I had too, but the Ridgid is more comfortable to use, plus it comes with a decent case with room for get this.... sanding disks...
I alsohaven't looked around lately, but the 5" PC ROS has spent many hours in my hands doing everything from rough work that really called for a planer to rubbing out fine finishes. It's an extremely versatile tool and as close to fool-proof as you can get.
