Has anyone out there used a device called a Saniflo masicating/pump unit in a basement bathroom addition to avoid digging up the cement floor for a sump pump? I talked to a plumber and he was wary of it as he thought it would not pass code. The company says 2 million have been installed. It grinds up toilet waste and will also pump shower and sink drainage using a float valve. It will pump the stuff horizontally 120′ + into the sanitary sewer connection, and is on the same level as the floor so it doesn’t need to be in a sump.
The plumber I talked to would not install it. I would like to know if anyone has ever used this device and has any good or bad things to say about it. I am thinkiing of installing it myself.
Thanks,
CS
