There was one line in my Hydrosystems Solo tub install that I can’t quite figure out. It has you screw the flange to the wall after it is set in the mortar bed.
Why?
What sort of screws to use – pan head, flat, rubber sealed… Galvy or SS?
Yes, I could call them but I would think the experience here would count for more.

Just kiddng, I don't know the reason for screwing the flange in. Maybe it keeps the tub from racking when someone lays against the back of it. I usually just use SS wood screws. Pre drill the holes and counter sink if the flange is thick enough. And shim out so that you are stressing the tub back against the studs.
